Say NO to Heels During Pregnancy

Love your pair of heels and can't live without them?

During pregnancy it is important that you discard your love for a while. The body in this time period releases hormone relaxin to keep our ligament stable by loosening up the tissue. This makes the pelvis area more flexible for birth .But this also mean there will be alot of extra pressure on the knee and ankle joints which may cause back pain.

When you wear your heels your posture changes and the pressure is more on back. You may feel clumsy dizzy and you might lose balance. It is not safe to get around wearing heels in this time period. In the third trimester feet swelling is common and therefore it can be very uncomfortable to wear heels. Some of the most common problem face by pregnant women includes:

  • Back pain
  • Cramps on the calf muscles
  • Swelling of the feet
  • Muscle cramps

A pregnant women who wear heels have higher chances of getting miscarriage due to the risk of twisting her feet.
